UNION, NJ -- Brett MacMath of Bridgewater-Raritan finished second in his weight class at the NJSIAA Region 4 wrestling tournament last weekend at Union High School.

Seeded second at 182 pounds, MacMath received a first-round bye before pinning Gerard Aroneo of Watchung Hills in 3:38. In the semifinals, MacMath came away with a 3-1 decision over Jahman McNeil of Bound Brook.

MacMath lost out on a technical fall to top-seeded John Poznanski of Colonia in the championship round, 20-4, in 4:37--MacMath's first loss of the season after 32 consecutive victories. But his performance still earned him a trip to the state individual tournament at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall next weekend.
