BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater resident Abigail Leigh Kilgallon has qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics Trials in swimming.
The 19-year-old, who has been swimming competitively since age 10, earned her first Olympic Trial cut at USA Speed Sectionals in Piscataway July 21.
Kilgallon just finished her freshman year at the University of Minnesota, where she was dominant in the women’s 1500 LCM freestyle. A member of the Scarlet Aquatics, her club team, Kilgallon earned a time of 16:45.40.
Earlier in the year, Kilgallon was named Big Ten Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Freshman of the Week.
Now, Kilgallon will move on to the Nationals, in California, in early August.
