BRIDGEWATER, NJ -- Bridgewater-Raritan built a two-touchdown lead in the first half, but undefeated Phillipsburg rallied for a 20-13 football victory Friday night.

Bridgewater-Raritan (2-3) drove inside the Phillipsburg 10-yard line, but the Stateliners (5-0) kept the Panthers out of the end zone in the final seconds to hold on.

Quarterback Alex Fromberg had given the Panthers a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when he sneaked in from the 1-yard line and Michael Pastor kicked the extra point. Gerrard Redden extended the BRHS lead to 13-0 in the second quarter on a 2-yard TD run.

Fromberg finished with 10 completions in 22 attempts for 101 yards and 28 rushing yards. Brett MacMath led Bridgewater with 33 rushing yards on 10 carries.

Miftar Hasanaj caught four passes for 43 yards and MacMath had 24 receiving yards on two catches for BRHS. On defense, the Panthers came up with four sacks, one each from Mickey Wasko, Bryce Myers, MacMath and Mike Maciocek.
