FLEMINGTON, NJ -- In the third meeting of the year between the teams, Hunterdon Central defeated the Bridgewater-Raritan girls basketball team, 34-33 in overtime, in the opening round of the Section 2, Group 4 state tournament Monday night.

Hunterdon Central (15-11) erased a four-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force the extra session, and then in overtime, the two teams combined for just three points, as the Red Devils outscored the Panthers, 2-1.

Meghan Ball led BRHS (12-13) with 15 points. Madison Bray and Katie Kowal each finished with eight points for the Panthers. Nicole Carter had 15 points for Hunterdon Central.
