BRIDGEWATER, NJ -- The Bridgewater-Raritan girls soccer team opened play in the Section 2, Group 4 tournament with a 7-0 victory over Plainfield on Monday.

Caitlin Dzuroska scored two goals for the Panthers (13-5), who tallied all their goals in the first half. Abby Mason, Alexa Confalone, Amanda Martinho, Skylar Randazzo and Jaclyn Salvatore each scored one goal.

Sonya Brewer contributed two assists and Corinne Nickel and Alivia Comune each had one assist for BRHS, which outshot Plainfield, 24-2, and posted its seventh consecutive shutout. Bridgewater-Raritan will play at home against Ridge in the section quarterfinal Thursday at 4 p.m., just five days after defeating Ridge, 2-0, in the Somerset County Tournament championship game.
