BRIDGEWATER, NJ -- The Bridgewater-Raritan girls soccer team opened its season with a 1-0 victory over Franklin on Wednesday.

Freshman forward Annie Clapp broke up the scoreless tie with a second-half goal and sophomore Maggie Ousouljoglou made two saves for the Panthers, who outshot Franklin, 8-2.

Bridgewater-Raritan reached the Group 4 championship game last season before losing to Washington Township in the final. BRHS finished the season with a 20-2-1 record.
