BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritan ice hockey team advanced with a 5-2 victory over Hillsborough in the opening round of the Skyland Cup Friday afternoon at Bridgewater Sports Arena.

The Panthers (12-6-3) scored once in the opening period and had three more goals in the second period to take a 4-0 lead. Jake Goldstein scored the first goal, with Jayson Lisk, Jon Flaim and Ben Matton-Conover each scoring a goal in the second period.

Matton-Conover scored his second goal of the game late in the third period. Dylan Carvalho and Jake Gottlieb each had two assists for BRHS, which had the man advantage on three of its five goals. Bridgewater goalie Matt Flaim made 33 saves.
