BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater-Raritan ice hockey team opened its season with an 8-2 victory over Montgomery on Friday night.

Corey Bertoia scored the first two goals of the game in the opening period, when the Panthers took a 3-0 lead. Jake Gottlieb finished with three goals for Bridgewater-Raritan, which led, 5-0, before Montgomery got on the board.

Ben Matton-Conover finished with one goal and two assists, and Alex Thode and Jake Goldstein each had a goal and an assist for BRHS. Brett Locker and Jayson Lisk each had assists.

Matt Flaim made eight saves in the victory.
