CAMDEN, NJ — An investigation is underway after a Camden man, 20, was shot in broad daylight on Friday, authorities said.

"Police responded to several 911 calls reporting a person had been shot in the 3000 block of Hope Street around 3:25 p.m.," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

Upon arrival, they found  Justin Ingram, of Camden, after having been shot multiple times.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joseph Wysocki announced.

Although Ingram was transported to a nearby hospital, he died just before 5 p.m. on Friday.
