CAMDEN, NJ — A Camden man has been charged in the May 14 fatal shooting of Andre Reevey, 34, of Camden, authorities announced Tuesday. 

Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joe Wysocki said Dwayne Hightower, 41, of Camden, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder.

"When police arrived [near Hemlock Walk] they found Reevey outside suffering from a gunshot wound," the CCPD said in a statement. "He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead."

Police said an investigation revealed that Reevey was shot inside an apartment near where he was found, and "someone attempted to clean up the crime scene."

The Collingswood Police Department detained Hightower. He was charged May 29.

Hightower is being held in the Camden County Jail awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
