CAMDEN, NJ — A Camden man was shot in Parkside in the midnight hours Thursday and later pronounced dead, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Police said Zaire Walls, 27, appeared to have been shot multiple times when he was found on the 1200 block of Empire Avenue shortly after 12:20 a.m.

Walls was taken to Cooper University Hospital and ruled dead at 12:40 a.m. after succumbing to his injuries, authorities said.

Walls' death is the 20th homicide in Camden this year.

The investigation into the fatal shooting is ongoing. No arrests have been announced at this time, authorities said.
