CAMDEN, NJ — A paving project will require the closing of Broadway between Jackson and Everett streets on Monday.

Construction crews will be completing paving restoration at 1536 South Broadway, which will block off the section of the road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. New Jersey American Water notified the county of the impending work. Motorists will be directed to follow a posted detour route using Jackson Street, South 6th Street, and Everett Street.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of the workday on Monday. Scheduling is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events, officials said.

"Motorists should try to avoid the construction area while crews are active," said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. "If you must drive through the area, remember to be extra cognizant of construction crews, vehicles, and debris, and to expect sudden stops and shifting traffic patterns.”
