CAMDEN, NJ — Health department officials updated Camden County's caseload Friday afternoon — 40 more cases for a total of 7,280.

The death toll remains at 352.

“We are continuing to wish a fast and full recovery to everyone who has contracted this horrible disease, and we are keeping all those affected in our thoughts and prayers,” said Freeholder Louis Cappelli. “Today, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC] released new guidance reiterating recommendations for the use of face masks when with large groups, washing hands frequently, and keeping six feet apart.

As some parts of the U.S. prepare for reopening, including New Jersey, nationwide over 2 million cases and more than 113,000 deaths have been reported, according to the CDC. 

"Our tools to combat the spread of coronavirus have not changed, but they are more important than ever if we are going to keep case growth down and save lives," said Cappelli. "As we return to something that resembles a normal course of business, please continue to take these recommendations seriously and follow the advice of public health experts.”
