CAMDEN, NJ — A day away from notching a full week of zero coronavirus deaths, Camden County added seven Wednesday afternoon— bringing the toll to 437.

"[COVID-19] is still very much with us in our community even as our cases decline," Freeholder Director Lou Cappelli said Wednesday afternoon.

Of the new deaths confirmed since Tuesday, two were men in their 60s from Cherry Hill, according to the department of health.

The county also announced 19 more cases for a total of 7,591.

“Across the state, we are in a much better position than we were just a few short months ago, but that does not mean that this war is over," Cappelli said. "If we do not vigilantly practice social distancing, mask wearing, and other proactive measures to prevent the spread, we will see an increase in cases."

Earlier today, Gov. Phil Murphy approved the return of arcades, museums, aquariums, bowling alleys, shooting ranges, batting cages and other such activities beginning July. A 25% cap will be in effect.

“As with other indoor activities, we must remain extra vigilant about this virus when we are indoors, especially,” Murphy said at his daily coronavirus press briefing. “We know that it is easier to contract the coronavirus in an indoor environment.”

A date has yet to be set for the opening of concert venues, move theaters, nightclubs, performing arts centers or gyms, although the latter can offer personal training by appointment.
