CAMDEN, NJ — Students in the Camden City School District arrived Thursday for the first day of the new year, and a handful of the schools received a visit from Superintendent Katrina McCombs.

McCombs led a tour that included district personnel, Mayor Frank Moran, and Camden County Police Chief Joseph Wysocki to pop-ins across the city. It began with a morning greeting at the newly-established Riletta Twyne Cream Early Childhood Center, formerly the elementary school in the Centerville neighborhood.

Among the other stops throughout the day was one at Pride Academy, a place of special memories for McCombs, who was a student and taught at the school under its different iterations.
