CAMDEN, NJ — A water main installation at 27th Street in Camden will begin Thursday and is expected to cause temporary closures to the roadway.
American Water crews are expected to work through June 18.
“This continuing project marks the beginning of a rehabilitation of 27th Street which has been long overdue,” said Freeholder Barbara Holcomb on Tuesday.
It is set to require the closure of 27th Street between Marlton Pike and the three-ay intersection of 27th Street, Baird Boulevard and Federal Street between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
“These critical repairs and improvements are continuing at this time, and residents should be aware of how this closure may impact their route," Holcomb said. "As always, take extra care if you are traveling near construction crews or vehicles, and be cognizant of sudden stops and shifting traffic patterns in the surround area.”
Detours will be posted in the area in order for drivers to use alternate routes.
The project close-out date may change based on weather conditions.
