CAMDEN, NJ — A paving project in the Gateway neighborhood will require the closing of Kaighn Avenue between Mount Ephraim Avenue and South 9th Street on Wednesday.

PSE&G informed the county that crews will be completing a project at 1066 and 1068 Kaighn Ave., blocking off the section of the road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Motorists will be directed to follow a posted detour route using Mount Ephraim Avenue, Sycamore Street, and South 9th Street.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of work hours. Scheduling is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events, officials said.

“Motorists driving through the area can expect additional traffic, sudden stops and possible congestion while crews are at work,” said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. “Until construction is completed, motorists should try to plan around the area and take extra caution when driving through the construction zone.”
