CAMDEN, NJ — A 63-year-old man died after he suffered severe head trauma in a beating, Camden County officials said Thursday.

According Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joe Wysocki, Bobby J. Hill Jr.'s death is being investigated as a homicide. 

"Police responded to the 1100 block of Kaighn Ave. in Camden shortly after midnight to a report of an unresponsive man in the alleyway," the prosecutors' office said in a statement. "When they arrived, they found...Hill Jr. suffering from multiple injuries to the head."

After Hill Jr. was discovered early Thursday morning, he was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced dead. 

Authorities said they have yet to make any arrests.
