CAMDEN, NJ — The fatal shooting of Ruben Wilson, 38, of Camden, is currently under investigation, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joseph Wysocki.

Authorities said the shooting took place Saturday on the 500 block of South 8th Street.

"Police responded to a ShotSpotter notification around 7:30 p.m," the prosecutor's office said in a statement. "When they arrived, they found [Wilson] on the 800 block of Line St. suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body."

After he was sent to the hospital, Wilson was later pronounced dead.
