CAMDEN, NJ — An early Sunday morning hit-and-run left a 28-year-old Camden man dead. Now, police are asking for the public's help in identifying the driver, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joe Wysocki announced Sunday afternoon.

"Police were called to Baird Boulevard and Admiral Wilson Boulevard around 2:30 a.m. on April 26 for a report of a person in the roadway," the Camden County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO) said. "When officers arrived, they found Jose A. Then-Ruiz...dead in the road."

According to investigators, Then-Ruiz was hit by an "unknown vehicle" and dragged before the vehicle fled the scene.
