CAMDEN, NJ — Camden High School senior forward Lance Ware, a consensus Top 50 player in the 2020 class, has committed to play for Kentucky.
Listed at No. 42 in ESPN’s 2020 Top 100 rankings, the Panthers' star big man revealed the choice Thursday, over additional offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, and Providence.
Ware was joined by family, students, and staff for the announcement at Camden Big Picture Learning Academy, where he attends school.
The 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward averaged 11.6 points and 9.6 rebounds last season for a Camden squad that reached the South Jersey Group 2 finals.
Ware received a home visit on Monday from Kentucky coach John Calipari, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
