I must say, this has been a huge caloric week. It all started Wednesday when we celebrated with friends at Uproot Restaurant in Warren.
Arriving just before 7 p.m., I was delighted to enter a comfortable fresh, and open environment with patrons enjoying drinks, dinner, and conversations at various tables throughout the dining room.
Always tuned-into the wants and desires of his clientele, Executive Chef Mark Farro designed his menu with creative lunch and dinner specialty dishes. Come in and enjoy a fresh salad, pizza, pasta, or any of his truly, creative, menu options. Know too, that you’re also able to order a grilled burger prepared with select beef from John’s Meat Market in Scotch Plains.
Continually catering to the wants and desires of his loyal clientele, Menu selections for lunch and dinner suggest full and half portions, with an abundance of salad and sandwich options.
Featured selections include: Caesar Salad with Romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, Anchovy, and crispy croutons. Cost:($9.50). A Wedge of Iceberg lettuce with cucumber, bacon bits, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onion, and blu cheese dressing, Cost:($8.50); Cobb Salad with Romaine lettuce, smoked apple wood bacon, hard boiled egg, avocado, blu cheese crumbs, tomato, cucumber, and Ranch dressing, Cost:$10.50); Greek Salad with Romaine lettuce, Kalamata olives, cucumber, pickled red onion, tomato, feta cheese, bell peppers, oregano, and lemon vinaigrette, Cost: ($10.50).
Salads and other options include; A Tuna Duo: Aguachile tuna tartare, compressed watermelon, ponzu, (Asian fruit), Peruvian Yellow pepper puree, plantain chips, ($16.00), One of Uproot’s Best Sellers, Vietnamese Steam Buns with Crispy Pork Belly, cucumber, pickled Daikon radish, and Hoisin sauce, ($8.00); Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, Scallions, spicy, ginger,r soy glaze,($10.00); Steamed Mussels,Tomato sofrito, cilantro, lime, and grilled bread, ($11.00 for 1 lb; 2 lbs. for $16.00);Truffle Fries, House made French fries, served with a trio of dipping sauces, ($11.00); Wings, House-Made, Makers Mark vanilla bean, buffalo chicken wings, (10 pieces,$15.00).

Park your car in their lot. Enter the delightful, frozen yogurt shop, select a container for your dessert, and start filling it with your favorite flavors of fresh, frozen yogurt. As soon as you are satisfied with the delicious contents, take it to the scale, have it weighed, and enjoy your special treat. Guests have the option of enjoying their Yogurt indoors, or outside among other happy Frozen Yogurt fans. I am guraranteeing, you’ll be back for more! Do enjoy it all!
