Our virtual doors are open. In addition to an extensive digital collection of books and movies, our website is chock-full of fun things, some of which are highlighted below.
NEW! Ancestry Library Edition is now accessible from home! This database brings the world’s most popular consumer online genealogy resource to your library. It delivers billions of records in census data, vital records, photos, and other documents. Delve into this unprecedented online collection of individuals from North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and more.
When researching your family history, don’t forget about our other database, HeritageQuest, which is also available from your home!
New titles for Children and Teens. Check out our new Juvenile and Young Adult eBooks and audiobooks on Overdrive: Stargirl, The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs, Fudge series, Slime 101, The Penderwicks series, Tweet Cute, One of Us Is Next, 10 Blind Dates, My Hero Academia series, CHERUB series, and many more.
Fun Video Challenge! Runs from 9 am on Monday through 9 pm on Sunday. Support local businesses by playing a game! Each week the library will share a video for you to watch. After you’ve seen the video, take a fun quiz to test your powers of observation. Each submission with all correct answers earns you an entry into a weekly raffle for a $25 gift certificate to a Chatham Borough or Chatham Township restaurant. Limit: one entry per Chatham library card.
Films to Make You Laugh. Looking for some films that will make you laugh? Take advantage of the free access to streaming services Kanopy and Hoopla available with your library card. Here is a selection of funny films for every age group. These are trying times, so bring some lighthearted fun into your life.
Classic Rock Deep Tracks. This selection for music lovers is offered by musician and library volunteer Michael Schiavo. The genre of music known as “Classic Rock” generated its share of hit singles, but the era is best known for the albums you can listen to from beginning to end, with little, if any, filler. Listen to a sampling of great tracks that we hope will inspire you to explore the albums they came from.
