On Friday, June 12 at 1 pm Governor Murphy announced that New Jersey libraries could open as early as June 15 for curbside/takeout services only. We are working hard to get our Takeout services in place with the safety of both staff and patrons in mind. We are hopeful that could begin Monday, June 22 if all goes well, possibly sooner. Stay updated by clicking on the link above (information continually updated) or attending live weekly updates with Library Director Karen Brodsky (see listings below).

Children & Teens - This year our Summer Reading Club will look a little different. Instead of our usual in-person programs, we will be using an online platform that allows you to enter the books you read directly into an app or on your computer. You will be able to earn points for not only reading books, but also by attending virtual programs and doing fun missions.
Adults - The Summer Reading Program will be very similar to previous years but will be all online. You will submit book reviews that count as entries into prize drawings that will take place at the end of July and August.
We believe that creating art is a wonderful way to express how you are feeling at this time. Whether you consider yourself a doodler or a true artist, we invite you to submit pictures of your creations for our Teen Art Contest. Submissions will be displayed on the library's Facebook page and will be voted on by the public. Winners in each of the four categories – Traditional Art, Digital Art, Photography, and Sidewalk Art – will receive a gift card to a local business of your choice. Entries are accepted through June 30 - click on heading for complete rules.
Fun Video Challenge! Runs from 9 am on Monday through 9 pm on Sunday. Support local businesses by playing a game! Each week the library will share a video for you to watch. After you’ve seen the video, take a fun quiz to test your powers of observation. Each submission with all correct answers earns you an entry into a weekly raffle for a $25 gift certificate to a Chatham Borough or Chatham Township business. Limit: one entry per Chatham library card.
This is our tenth and last video challenge. We hope you had as much fun doing them as we had creating them. Be sure to join our Summer Reading Clubs this summer for a chance to win more fun prizes!
