Storytime is an 8-week, progressive program for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Registration required

24 months and younger – 9:45 am

Ⓐ Medigap Buyers’ Guide – 3 pm and 7 pm

Open enrollment for Medicare Supplement Insurance is October 15-December 7.  If you are about to enroll in Medicare, or think you are paying too much for your Medicare Supplement Insurance, this program is for you.  Jessica Moody from Weiss Financial Ratings will explain and demonstrate the library Medigap Buyers’ Guide, a database that compares and recommends different supplement insurance options based on your circumstances.  She will talk about what Medicare does not cover, the questions you should ask when getting a quote for prescription drug coverage, and how to get the best rate for your Medicare Supplement Insurance.  For your convenience, there will be two sessions, at 3 pm and 7 pm.

Ⓐ Book Talk with Lisa Tognola: As Long As It’s Perfect – 7 pm

Chatham resident Lisa Tognola will speak about her recent novel As Long As It’s Perfect, involving a couple who try to build their dream house and find that it comes with much conflict as well as humor.  Lisa Tognola is a freelance writer, social worker, and a former humor columnist at The Alternative Press.


Gen Y Networking Group – 7 pm

Gen Y Networking Group is a forum dedicated to job searching, networking, and career development.  The group is open to all job seekers.

Jersey Lightning: A Story of Booze, Apples and Local Industry – 7 pm

Maressa McFarlane of the Morris County Park Commission will speak about the history of the alcoholic beverage applejack and its production in New Jersey.  Learn about the beverage that was once king of the Garden State!

Ⓐ, Ⓣ Chinese Conversation Group – 7:15 pm

This new program is for teens and young adults, but everyone who is interested in Chinese culture is welcome.  Meetings will include practice in daily conversation, learning new words, introduction to Chinese culture, as well as crafts and games.  The program is designed and implemented by the Chatham Chinese Association.  Registration is not required, but encouraged – sign up here.


Yoga Storytime with Miss Rachael – 10 or 10:45 am

For preschoolers and their caregivers – please choose one session

Practice yoga poses to go along with yoga stories.

Cinema214: The Art of Racing in the Rain (PG, 109 min.) – 7 pm

Based on the best-selling novel by Garth Stein, this is a heartfelt tale narrated by a witty and philosophical dog named Enzo.  Through his bond with his owner, Denny Swift, an aspiring Formula One race car driver, Enzo has gained tremendous insight into the human condition and understands that the techniques needed on the racetrack can also be used to successfully navigate the journey of life.  The film follows Denny and the loves of his life – his wife, Eve, their young daughter Zoe, and ultimately, his true best friend, Enzo.  Refreshments will be served.  Sponsored by Friends of the Library

Jean Leigh, a meditation teacher from Morristown, will present a guided meditation class.  Benefits of meditation include relief of stress, enhancement of focus, increased memory, and a sense of peace.  Sign up here.
