Comedian Artie Lange will perform at the Stress Factory in New Brunswick, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Robin Salem, the wife of longtime “Howard Stern Show” engineer Scott Salem, known to listeners as “Scott the Engineer." Robin is recovering from multiple cancers, and has been bedridden for the last two years.
“While our insurance covered most of the expenses we had to hire private nurse/aide to care for her while I was at work, which is not covered,” Scott Salem wrote on his GoFundMe page, "Help Robin Recover.” “We have drained our savings and have gone into considerable debt to cover the related expenses that are not covered. In addition to the private care that is required there are other non-covered expenses, such as certain medical equipment and modifying our home to make it handicapped friendly.”
“Stay tuned for info on a benefit for Scott the Engineers wife Robin," Lange wrote on Twitter earlier this month. "Scott’s a made guy. He needs our help now. I will be headlining. If u knew Robin you’d know why it’s important to help. She’s a doll.”
Lange lives in Hoboken and the Salems live in Oradell.
Lange will also join another all-star benefit at the Stress Factory tonight for comedian The Reverend Bob Levy, who is recovering from a serious car accident.
Tickets are $40 ($49 with buffet, $60 for VIP seating); visit stressfactory.com for details.
