CHATHAM, NJ - The Chatham Downtown Alliance presented Civil War author Bill Styple on Monday night at the Library of the Chathams.

Historian and Chatham resident Styple has written 21 books and spoke for nearly two hours on his newest book topic: Civil War Corneal Thomas Key.

About 25 people were in attendance to listen as Styple gave a detailed history of Corneal Key and his heavy and devious involvement with Civil War politics and tactics; especially in relation to General George McClellan.

When speaking of his book, which is entitled “McClellan’s Other Story,” Styple commented, “I want history to forever judge them together.”

Styple also spoke of his longtime passion for Civil War history and how the topic of this book stemmed from research for another book that he has been working on for years.

Following the lecture there was a brief question and answer session.
