MONTVILLE, NJ - They call Graham LeMon "Big" for obvious reasons and Mac Bredahl is simply known as "Mac."

On Friday night, the Chatham boys basketball team served up a Big-Mac in its 37-34 victory over Montville.

The 6-6, 290-pound LeMon scored nine of his team-high 13 points in the second half and Bredahl made a number of clutch plays down the stretch as the Cougars (10-3) snapped a two-game losing streak against the Mustangs (6-6).

In the fourth quarter, Montville held a 30-27 lead with 5:34 left before Chris Conlin received a pass from Bredahl and knocked down a 3-pointer for his only points of the game. Bredahl followed with a running fade-away side jumper that dropped through as he fell to the floor (see video below), putting the Cougars in front to stay, 32-30, with 4:06 showing.

After the Mustangs sank a free throw, Bredahl stole the ball and made a dash down court for the layup with 2:18 to go. Seconds later, the junior guard then drew a charge at the other end. That set up Bredahl's threaded bounce pass to a cutting LeMon, who scored the basket and was fouled (see video). The senior converted the three-point play to make it 37-31 for Chatham with 1:38 left.

LeMon and Bredahl (9 points) combined to score 22 points for Chatham, accounting for 13 of the 21 points the Cougars scored over the final two quarters.

The game was a struggle offensively for Chatham, which trailed, 25-18, late in the third quarter before the Cougars closed out the period with a 7-0 burst to make it 25-25 heading into the final period.

LeMon ignited the run in the third by driving for a basket with 2:19 left and Bredahl hit two free throws before Ryan Doherty hit a 3-pointer that bounced high off the front rim and dropped through.

"We didn't shoot the ball great," Chatham coach Todd Ervin said. "We made a couple big shots when we needed it. On the road it's hard to make shots. I knew this was going to be a tough game. I'm glad we came out with the win. It's good to get back on the winning side.

"(LeMon) carried us in the second half. It's been that way for most of the year. He has to score for us to do well."
