Carey Gage, a new member of the BNI Summit Of Success Chapter in Summit, is an attorney specializing in tax and estate planning.

Gage has represented many closely held businesses in matters such as the orderly transition of management upon the death of unrelated partners or partners who are family members, including establishing a workable method of transferring control of the business, minimizing estate and income tax consequences involved in that transfer and estimating and assuring a source for payment of, estate taxes.

Other examples of his work include: Minimizing state and federal income, sales, payroll, estate and other types of taxes through the creative use of profit sharing and pension plans, wills, trusts and other vehicles; Estate planning and administration; Acquisitions and sales of businesses;  and 1031 transactions and reorganizations under IRC Section 368(a).

Gage also has extensive experience in representing individuals and businesses in tax-related matters, including state and federal tax litigation, audits, offers in compromise and other tax workouts.

BNI is the largest business networking organization in the world, offering members the opportunity to share ideas, contacts and, most importantly, business referrals.  Each chapter includes members who are local area business people from many different professions. Only one person from each profession is permitted to join a chapter of BNI.

The Summit Of Success Chapter meets for breakfast every Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at Fairmount Country Club, 400 Southern Blvd. in Chatham. The meetings are open to all who are interested.  We are currently interviewing potential candidates for electricians and home inspectors. For more information, contact Jim Comerford, public relations coordinator, at jcomerford@sbsnet.com, or visit www.bnisummitofsuccess.com.
