The Chatham Borough Green team in coordination with the Library of the Chathams is offering an opportunity for residents who may not be tremendously comfortable with using a computer or do not have personal access to a computer to use a computer in the library to access the census forms.
Letters will be sent to all residents of the United States beginning this week asking residents to complete an online form containing information about everyone living within their households. It is extremely important that people complete the census forms as accurately as possible. The computer-generated form is the easiest and fastest way to do so, but people not very familiar with a computer may have difficulty accessing the form.
The volunteers who sign up on this Doodle form will assist residents in accessing the form, not completing it. If a person cannot complete the form, they should call the phone number provided in the letter and a census employee will listen to the information and input it for them. That is not our job. There will be Census employees fluent in 12 languages other than English and a separate phone number will be provided in the letters for each language user.
Rozella Clyde will be available most mornings and will train you on how to assist. Please use the link to the Doodle poll below to access the calendar. We will only provide assistance on the times when volunteers are available. We really want to staff every morning, but selected afternoons or evenings. Volunteers may sign up for as many slots or portions of slots as they want. This is a short term project with very long term effects.
Please help us find volunteers to help There will be 6 terminals so we need up to 6 volunteers each day. If no one shows up at a particular time, you can use the time for personal use, but please remain in the kiosk room for the entire time you volunteered to do.
