Just in time for the upcoming Jewish New Year, Chabad of SE Morris County has published a new Jewish Photo Art Calendar for the upcoming Jewish year of 5771 (2010-11), and is offering complementary calendars to the general public.
The Jewish Art Calendar, which begins in September to correspond to the Jewish year, has been mailed free of charge to several thousand Jewish homes and businesses throughout Morris County.
Every page of the newly designed full-color calendars feature photographic artwork from renowned Jewish artists, as well as information regarding the holidays within each month. It also features the weekly Friday candle lighting times, the time when Jewish women and girls light candles in honor of the Sabbath.
"The Jewish calendar year goes by the lunar cycle, and as a result, the Jewish holidays fall out on different dates every year. These calendars will make it much simpler for people to find out when the holidays will be this year. We wouldn't want someone to miss a holiday!" said Rabbi Shalom Lubin, Director of the Chabad Jewish Center.
The calendars have been distributed to local nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and will be distributed to Jewish students on the local college campuses.
