Dear Editor:

We are proud to live in Chatham and grateful for the active and deeply talented community we're a part of here. All of us play a role in this.

One point of particular pride is our fiscally conservative Chatham Township Committee. The team we've elected, in tandem with our Township Administration, continues to trim the municipal portion of our property taxes, even as surrounding towns spend their way to higher taxes.

Just as significant to me, our Township Committee continues to strategically preserve open space, maintaining our town's character, clean water, and quality of life.

When the people we elect do us right, I believe in re-electing them. With all due respect to the quality and commitment of this year's challengers, I am supporting the incumbents, Mike Kelly and Karen Swartz, because they've done a great job in these two closely related areas.
