MADISON, NJ - Former Chatham High basketball player Joe Reel has been named the new head boys basketball coach at Madison High.

Reel served as an assistant to Chatham coach Todd Ervin the past two seasons and helped the Cougars forge a 49-9 mark over that time. Chatham also won two straight Morris County Tournament titles with Reel as an assistant.

Previously, Reel was an assistant boys basketball coach at Gov. Livingston. In addition to his coaching duties, Reel organized "Believe in the Cure" fundraisers, which raised money for childhood cancer research.

Madison finished with a 12-12 mark this past season.
