CHATHAM, NJ - Peter Daquila, business administrator/secretary for the Chatham Board of Education, reported on the progress of capital improvement projects for the district at the regular meeting of the BOE on Monday night. He noted that all projects are on schedule.
Daquila reported that the Cougar Field renovation by Catcord Construction is on schedule, with current work on new bleachers for the football field and the construction of a walking path around the perimeter of the field. The "Snack Shack" concession building will be knocked down and moved toward the field house, allowing for better flow for spectators into Cougar Field, according Scott Sibbald of Catcord Construction.
Daquila also said that nine of the 13 new classrooms being built at the Chatham Middle School are on schedule to be completed this week and that the rest should be done by the middle of August.
The relocation of the Southern Boulevard School office is on schedule and will be done before school starts. Also, bids are going out for the renovation of the high school auditorium and are expected to be awarded at the Aug. 28 meeting. Construction for that project would begin in January 2018.
Bids for the addition of classrooms at Milton Avenue School and the construction of the central board office have yet to go out.
