CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Borough holds one of the more successful fundraisers in the area to benefit the American Cancer Society and Monday night the Borough of Chatham Council approved a resolution that sets up the fourth annual "Relay for Life" at Haas Field on June 3.
In the first three years the event was held at the Chatham Middle School, more than $388,350 were raised for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life fundraising program.
"Last year, $156,000 was raised, which is incredible," Kyra Miller, Chatham resident and American Cancer Society staff member for the June 3 event, said.

The resolution states that Chatham Borough will join 5,000 communities and nearly four million people who participate in "Relay for Life" fundraisers throughout the country.
