In anticipation of the upcoming weather event, the Borough of Chatham is advising residents to remove any extension cords that may be running across streets to power a neighbor’s home. In the event there is sufficient snow to require snow plows to clear the streets, these extension cords could be dangerous to workers and residents.
The Chatham Fire Department urges that under no circumstances should generators be covered or moved closer to your home during this predicted nasty weather event.
Please assume that any downed wire is a dangerous wire and don’t go near it.
Buses are available from the Chatham Train Station to NYC. Please see the Chatham Borough website www.ChathamBorough.org for all of the info.
Bush pickup will resume tomorrow, Thursday November 8 2012.
