Chatham Borough Police Say Burglars Targeting Honda Air Bags

CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Borough Police have sent out an "Alert Chatham Borough" message warning that Honda vehicle air bags have been the target of burglaries this month.

According to Chatham Borough Police Chief Phil Crosson, six motor vehicle burglaries have been reported since Feb. 12 and that three of the reported auto burglaries specifically targeted Honda vehicles for the purpose of stealing air bags.

The other three burglaries consisted of individuals entering unlocked vehicles and removing various items from those vehicles.

The Chatham Borough Police Department reminds residents to make sure to remove all valuables from your vehicle and don't leave miscellaneous items in plain sight. Remove all keys and garage remote controls and lock the vehicle doors. 

"If you are a victim of any type of burglary or theft, do not disturb the scene or move the vehicle and call the police immediately," Crosson said in the message.
