CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Borough Police Sergeant Michael J. Mahoney was honored with a resolution commemorating his 25 years of service in a retirement ceremony held at the Borough of Chatham Council meeting on Monday night.
"He's received dozens of awards and commendations for his work and most of those came at the hands of letters of commendations from residents in this community," Brian Gibbons, Chatham Borough police chief, said. "There was a consistent theme in all of those letters that I had the privilege to put in his personnel file. He had the willingness to go above and beyond the call on a day-to-day basis."
