Chatham Boys Lacrosse Meets Pingry Saturday in Tournament of Champions

Group 2 state champion Chatham meets Pingry, Non-Public B champion on Saturday in the first round of the Tournament of Champions Credits: Luke Malanga

The Chatham boys lacrosse team will be the No. 5 seed and meet No. 4 seeded Pingry in the opening round of the Tournament of Champions set to start Saturday at Bridgewater-Raritan.

The first-round doubleheader Saturday begins at 5 p.m. with Group 2 champion Chatham (19-6) meeting Non-Public B champion Pingry (15-3). The second game of the doubleheader starts at 7:30 with third-seeded West Morris (19-5) the Group 3 champion vs. No. 6 Mountain Lakes (17-6), the Group 1 champion.

Top-seed Bridgewater-Raritan (19-0), the defending T of C champion, and No. 2 seed Delbarton (20-2) have each received a first-round bye. Bridgewater-Raritan, winner of 42 straight games, is the Group 4 champion and Delbarton is the Non-Public A champion.

The Tournament of Champions semifinals are set for 5 and 7:30 Wednesday, June 8 at Kean University. The T of C final is 7:30 Saturday, June 11, also at Kean.
