CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham boys lacrosse co-captains Chris Conlin and Mac Bredahl ended the basketball season playing at Rutgers in the Group 3 state final. The two will return to Rutgers University on Wednesday to open the 2018 lacrosse season for the Cougars.
Chatham opens with a rare night game, a 7 p.m. matchup against Rumson-Fair Haven in Rutgers Stadium.
A year ago, the Cougars were 16-3 and lost to just two teams the entire season - Delbarton in the regular season and in the Morris County Tournament final - and to Ramapo in the state sectional final.
Key returnees include Bredahl, who led the attack with 47 goals and 47 assists; senior goalie Ryan Ness, who allowed just 4.6 goals per game, and senior defender Conlin.
