TOMS RIVER, NJ - The team of Steve Bondurich, Harris Eisenhardt, Nick Ferrone and Kevin Gesell bettered their own Chatham High school record in the 4x400 with time of 3:30.55 at the Meet of Champions held Saturday in the Bennett Center.

Chatham came into the Meet of Champions seeded 32nd in the 4x400 relay and finished in 18th place by crushing the school mark they set the week before at the Group 2 championship by 3.3 seconds. The Cougars ran faster than three of the five teams that finished ahead of them at the Group 2 meet.

At the start of the season the record was held by Parth Shah, Dominic Vernazza, Andrew Vena and Kevin Gesell at 3:36.81. It was set last season.

In the shot put, Chatham senior Ed Dennerlein placed 15th with a throw of 50 feet, 8 inches.
