Chatham Boys Win Distance Medley at Morris County Relays in School-Record Time

Chatham's record-setting Distrance Medley Relay team of Kevin Gesell, Grant Hauck, Steve Bondurich and Will Mitchell with coaches Patrick Barry and Nick DeSantis

DENVILLE, NJ - The Chatham boys won the Distance Medley at the Morris County Relays on Saturday, setting a school record on the track at Morris Knolls.

The Distance Medley team won in 10:29.1, breaking the old mark by three seconds.

Grant Hauck ran the 1200 in 3:15.4;  Stephen Bondurich the 400 in 50.8;  Kevin Gesell ran the 800 in 1:56.5;  and Will Mitchell closed in the 1600 and ran a 4:26.0.

It broke the 2007 Chatham record set by T.J. Lavelle, Chris Black, Mike Bracken, and James Grimes.

It was the second school mark set by Hauck and Mitchell at the relays. Both ran on the 1600 relay that finished second on Friday, setting a Chatham record for the event.

In the team shot put the Chatham team of Chris DeSante, John Burkard, and Ed Dennerlein finished in 4th place.  Dennerlein broke his own school record once again in tossing the shot 52 feet, 7 inches.
