Chatham Boys X-Country Places Fourth at Shore Coaches Invitational

Chatham coach Patrick Barry's team placed fourth at Shore Coaches Invitational Credits: TAP Chatham

HOLMDEL, NJ - Will Mitchell, Liam Hynes, Pat Mortensen, Grant Hauck and Kevin Gesell averaged 17:22 in leading Chatham to fourth place at the Shore Coaches Invitational at Holmdel Park on Saturday.

The top Chatham finishers in the 10-team meet were: Mitchell: 19th in 17:02; Hynes: 23rd in 17:10; Mortensen: 29th in 17:28; Hauck: 30th in 17:28; Gesell: 44 in 17:46; Luke Malanga: 58 in 18:13; David Flynn: 66th in 19:22.

The Chatham JV placed fourth out of 12 teams with an average time of 19:30. The top Cougar runners were: Chris Schneider19:01; Jack Byrd19:23; Danny Bresnahan19:25; Harris Eisenhardt19:36; Dan Goldschmidt20:06; Will Kraemer20:17; Tommy Flynn20:19.

The Chatham Freshmen placed ninth out of 22 teams. Chatham's top runners on the 2-mile course were: Colin Logsdon: 5th in 11:58; David Valeri: 54th in 13:6; Bill Gallagher: 78th in 13:46; Will Sands: 88th in 13:56; Armen Panossian: 91th in 13:58; Dennis Mojares: 99th in 14:02; Chris Witte: 112 th in 14:22.
