CHATHAM, NJ - Mayor Bruce Harris addressed both the Chatham Fire Department and the Chatham Police Department before the Fourth of July Parade on Thursday morning.

Harris commended the fire department for their service during Superstorm Sandy, pointing out how they "stepped up" to provide food for the utility and emergency workers. He also noted that the police department is set to celebrate its 100-year anniversary in September.

"Chiefs, prepare your departments for inspection," Harris said.

It was the first time that both the fire and police departments gathered together for inspection before the start of the parade.
