Chatham Distance Runner Logsdon Qualifies for Meet of Champions in Two Boys Track Events

COLUMBUS, NJ - Chatham junior Colin Logsdon set two personal records in qualifying for the NJSIAA Meet of Champions on Friday and Saturday at the NJSIAA Group 3 meet held at Northern Burlington Regional High School.

On Friday, Logsdon placed seventh in the 1,600-meter run, just missing out on the last medal in the race. But his time of 4:21.11 earned him a Wild Card entry in the Meet of Champions on Saturday, June 10, also at Northern Burlington. There are just six Wild Card entries taken from a field that includes all group meets.

Logsdon set another personal record on Saturday, placing sixth in the 3,200-meter race in 9:22.09, making him an automatic qualifier for the Meet of Champions.

Also participating over the weekend at the Group 3 meet for Chatham were: Adam Oare, who placed 12th in the discus with a throw of 132 feet, and Jaylen Haye, who competed in the 100, 200 and 400. His best finish was 16th in the 400 with a time of 51.02.
