The Chatham Education Foundation (CEF) is excited to see one of its largest grants of the 2016-17 school year come to fruition, supporting the visual arts in the School District of the Chathams (SDOC).
On Wednesday, May 31 and Thursday, June 1, the community is invited to join in the inaugural, Collaborative K-12 Chatham-Wide School District Art Show, at the Chatham Middle School upper gymnasium, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Showcasing student artwork and the visual arts education progression in the SDOC, the art teachers in each of the Chatham schools have worked all year collecting student artwork for display to make this event possible. The teachers themselves will also each be presenting one of their own original pieces. Over 800 works of art will be displayed.
CEF is a not-for-profit organization that supports excellence in education through parent and community donations. The Chatham Education Foundation has awarded over $1 million in grants to the School District of the Chathams since inception and over $68,000 this school year to date.
CEF grants are designed to enrich the learning experiences of the 4,200 plus students in SDOC’s six public schools. If you would like additional information about the Chatham Education Foundation or would like to make a donation please visit their website at http://www.chathamedfoundation.org.
