Chatham Fire Department Open House on Saturday to Include Auto Wreck Extraction Demonstration

CHATHAM, NJ - The highlight of the Chatham Borough Fire Department's Open House on Saturday, Oct. 14 will be the live automobile extraction that will take place on the street in front of the fire house.

At about 11:45 p.m. firefighters will use an automobile provided by Glenn's Automotive and Towing to show how firefighters can take apart a car in order to extract passengers trapped inside after an accident.

The Open House is free to the public and is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Tech Club at Chatham High School placed third in the 8th annual Thomas Edison Invention Challenge this year.
