Chatham Freshman Kirton Qualifies for Meet of Champions in 100 Hurdles

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Chatham freshman Simone Kirton has qualified for the Meet of Champions, set for Wednesday in South Plainfield.

Kirton placed fifth in the 100 high hurdles at the Group 3 state meet held over the weekend with a time of 14.95. The top six finishers in each event advance to the M of C.

Other highlights from the Group 3 meet from Chatham incluced sophomore Erin Tencic, who clocked a personal-best time of 2:19.51 in the 800, placing 12th. Classmate Rashida Haye ran a personal best in the 100 high hurdles with a time of 16.32.

The 4x400 relay team  of Morgan Maltby, Erin Tencic, Liz Malatesta and Lia Ferrone ran a season-best time of 4:08.85.
