Chatham Girls Tennis Opens with 5-0 Sweep over Pope John

CHATHAM, NJ - Scarlett Blydenburgh, Seden Agar and Laurel Hickey all won their singles matches in straight sets to pace the Chatham girls tennis team to a 5-0 victory over Pope John in the season opener for both teams on Wednesday at Colony Courts.

Blydenburgh won at first singles over Anah Oozeerally, 6-1, 6-0; Agar adjusted to her opponent's spin serve to rally in the first set and close out a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Hailey O'Connor at second singles, and Hickey topped Jess Whittam, 6-1, 6-1, at third singles.

At first doubles Prisha Vyas and Lana DePasquale teamed up at first singles for Chatham to win, 6-1, 6-2. Chatham's second-doubles tandem of Abby Morgan and Julia Gallop won 6-0, 6-1.
