CHATHAM, NJ - It wasn't the kind of game that could be stopped for a photo opportunity, so Chathm senior guard Jack Rooney waited until this season's home opener to receive a basketball commemorating his 1,000th career point in a pre-game ceremony held Monday night.

As a junior, Rooney had hit the 1,000-point mark last March in the NJSiAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 state final against Barringer. Rooney finished with 15 points in the 56-53 overtime loss.

Jack Rooney's parents, Steve and Jeanine, join him on the court as he receives commemorative basketball for scoring his 1,000th point
